This is the third post in the series of sunrises at Angkor. By this time the sun was well above the horizon and the crowd which had gathered to witness the spectacle had disappeared. There were only a few over-enthusiasts like me who had decided to stay back, waiting for the sun to appear behind the towers or the merus. The sky continued to change its colour as the Sun made its upward journey. This was the first glimpse of the sun as it appeared behind the Angkor.
You can see the previous two posts here and here.

Hello,

Best regards and all the best for 2007.

Daniel.

Hello Sabyasachi.
I really like this series. Being able to experience the sunrise as you saw it really takes the message of this site one step further. Incredible colors, the green hue is quite unique and separates this sunrise from the others we have seen on TE. I also appreciate the burst of light coming between the two spires.
Nice job and Happy New Year friend,
Chris.

Dear Sabyasachi!
This is a fabled and picturesque impression. Its an impressive silhouette and expressive composition. Colours are fine and spectacular. Beautiful shot.
Happy New Year to you and your family!

Wonderful shot! The stark graphism of the towers in silhoette agsint the bright sky, and their perfect reflection in the water gives this a mesmerizing quality. Wonderful colour in the sky too. Beautiful!

A beautiful shot here Sabyasachi, what appeals to me mostly about this shot is the dim look of the photo which seems to draw my eyes into the shot to look for features. Love the reflection as well.

merhaba my friend sabyasachi
wonderful composition and colours.wonderful trees and silhouettes.well done.
friendly greetings from Turkey.

Hi Sabyasachi.

The colours and the silhouettes are lovely!!!

My compliments!

Rgs, Oscar

Hi-Lovely sunrise with beautiful reflection captured here.Happy New year
Ramesh

Hi Sabyasachi,
I like this one more than the others because of the colors. This is less heavy for me, even the others are good too. But this soft yellow touch with a none decided question of the sky to turn into blue or not is marvelous. And the silhouette of Angkor reflected in the water is a beauty for itself.
A late Happy New Year to you, Ulf

Hi Sabyasachi!
Lovely sunrise with splendid colors and amazing silhouettes.
Spectacular reflections and nice luminosity.
The sky it’s absolutely amazing!
TFS and have an excellent 2007 first week!

hi sabyasachi
nice post card from angkor to start thr new year.

Happy New Year to you and your family!

didier

You have used your short time in Siem Reab to good effect, Sabyasachi. And you have clearly shown dedication to get up before dawn. It was worth it however, because you have got a dramatic and signature picture of Angkor. I expect you stood on that little hill, where so many photographers stand. I did too, but -lazy me- it was for sunset not the dawn. Congratulations on a lovely picture and Happy New Year to you, your wife and son, Regrades Kevin

The very bright central highlight I find distracting and maybe a move left or right to place it behind a tower (if possible) would be an improvement but still an excellent image accompanied by your usual interesting notes.

Bonjour Sabyasachi,
Meilleurs Voeux 2007 !

Hi Sabyasachi
I think this a very symbolic, as well as, very beautiful photograph. The sun seems to demonstrate hope for a new year. Very well taken!
Happy 2007,
CheukHin

C'est juste le moment où le soleil se montre et tu l'as très bien pris. La photo est superbe une féérie pour les yeux. J'aime les belles couleurs du levant avec les silhouettes typiques de temples.
Excellent !

yet another beauitful shot of yours from Angkor Wat. The sun between the 2 towers forms a great composition. I like the blue already visible in the sky. Very well done.

The difference in colours between the 3 shots is incredible. Despite the strong orange and red of the other two which I also like, I like this one the best and it was well worth you staying back for it. The symmetry, thanks to the still water in the lake is a wonderful element of the image and the more subtle colours are very appealing. Very good work.
Kath
Best wishes for 2007.

Hi Sabya - it was really worth to stay... see that spectacular and mysterious shot! The position of the sun in the middle of the towers makes it and it's so special. Thx for sharing, Daniel

Hi Saby,
Very good effect with the shadows of the buildings, the light is beautiful, great atmosphere in this shot!
Best wishes for the new year!

Hi Sabyasachi
To me this may be the best of the three sunrose photos for it's uniqueness...the sun peeping through the two towers, is what I am really impressed with & the golden colours of the sky (& reflections). The exercise of waking up early was really fruitful...
Best Regards
Angshu

Hi Sabyasachi. The sun sure is well placed within the frame. I always love silhouettes and this one is no different. You've almost got perfect symmetry. It was worth the wait. Excellent work Sabyasachi!

Hi Sabyasachi,

I love how you captured the sun just rising between the towers.
This is a very dramatic photograph as are all of your images.

Spiros

Hello Sabyasachi,

Very good idea to send this picture on January 1st. But it is a mysterious photo who brings lots of questions to one's mind if it should represent 2007: Better not to think too much and stick to photography only. By the way I have a few taken from the same place,at the same hour but have not sent them yet to TE.

All the best - Izzet

Hi Sabyasachi,
Superb sunrise and great reflections.
Silhouettes of Angkor are perfect in the water.
Cheers

Hi Sabyasachi,
It is amazing as to the ever changing tones and hues in the sky at this wonderful spot. This is a golden sunrise, with tones of green and blue. Superb silhouette features here, yet enough light in the water for fine reflections. Well captured. Have a very happy New Year.

Hej Sabyasachi,
A great view! The morning light is beautiful and also the colours of the sky look great. I like the reflections also very much. Very good work, thanks for sharing!

Hi Sabyasachi
I amways like to see Angkor at sunset time. The reflection in the water give us a double show.
It's very beautifull.
Well done
Bertrand

Hi Sabyasachi, magic sunset landscape, splendid composition with the great architecture of Angkor, amazing light and colors, very well done, saluti dall'Italia, ciao Silvio

Hi Sabyasachi,
This an excellent shot; you have played nicely with the light here. The reflection of the Angkor in the glassy water creates a magical effect. The golden sky & silhouettes of the surrounding area increased the beauty of the image. Thanks dada, for sharing this wonderful image.

Srinivasan

Hello Sabyasachi,
Each photo more beautifull than the other my friend. I like your strong colors, your reflections, the sun's rays. Excellent.

Hi Sabyasachi,
I am glad that I´ve just discovered your wonderful gallery. This is nice sunset, maybe when the sun is hidden behind the Angkor the mystery of this strong view will be more expressive.
Regards,
Stanislav

Olá Sabyasachi, three posts and three diferent colors: orange, red and this darker one - it's like the impressionist painters. I imagine that it must be very exciting to be in the presence of such impressive architecture in such a wonderful sun setting. The result is gorgeous and I love the way you placed the sun shinning. Nice to see you, my friend.
Stay well and have a nice weekend,
ricardo

Excellent photo. The colors are perfect. The pov and the sharpness are great too. Congratulations!!!
