I like it.Her smiling is very strong element in this shot.The light is excellent & well captored.The contrast is great.B&W medium is very nice for this subject.You creat a semi-dynamic shot.

Great concept of portrait, and executed nicely. I like the somewhat of sad smile. Very depth feel you have captured
Maybe a crop for top portion.

this is very nice, great expression of the girl, nice compo with the carousel in the background. all those shados on the ground, the fence and this B&W... moody again!

A very charming smile with smiling eyes as well Ian.
Good DOF against the merrygoround behind , and I really liked the shadows casted on the ground.

This is SO cool. I really like the compo with the merry-go-round in the bacground. Her simile is wonderful and the shadows on the pavement really make the image happen for me. Wonderful work on all levels!

Sharp and beautiful shot. Very well exposed. Great contrast. But most of all, Fantastic composition. It couldn't be other than B&W.

Good shot Ian. I think this really works in that you have given us a good portrait of the girl, while giving us an attractive background too, yet the background doesn't detract, it adds context. Nice b&w work.

Tremendous work. Just great. The overall scene, her apprehensive expression, the B&W all add to make a great photograph.

The only distraction is the car frame left, a small crop would work fine here though, and not effect the overall feel?

i like your work.
like the way she smiles ,like the way her dirty clothes make her seem like one of the many underpriviledged kids in the world and this in contrast with the other kids on the ride on the right side of the frame speak out the story of this kid . also the long shadows in background give an idea of what the time could be. great work

J'aime aussi beaucoup ce portrait de petite fille. toute souriante alors qu'elle est "de l'autre côté de la rivière". C'est très bien rendu et la petite note résume parfaitement la situation de cette enfant. bravo
