Photographer’s Note
while on tonle sap, visiting the snake farm, i became friend with this boy. He cheerfully accepted to be portrayed. He probably thought it was a funny idea to want to photograph him and it shows here. I like his natural unpretended laughter;-)

Good shot Eric. I think the expression here is great and I like your composition very much. To me, you have found a good balance between a tight crop and showing his surroundings. On a personal level, I believe you have done what is really important and that is to capture the real happiness that can be experienced from so many of the Khmer people. Personally, I would prefer Provia to Velvia for this shot, and using a warming filter has probably caused even more shifting. Anyways, very nice shot.

You are right about the smile Eric. It's very natrual and it is also reflected in his eyes. Nice use of DoF and the composition is good to.
Well done

What a friendly face, the colors are really great, and his skin texture and tone his so radiant. He smiles with his whole face, and seems to be happy with life in general. A very fun photo and so full of life.

Très bien, ce jeune garçon a vraiment l'air heureux.

Wonderful portrait, even his hair is optimistic and upbeat. And its upward sweeping lines are very important in the composition and together with the blue diagonal in the lower left, it frames his joyful face in a great way. It's good that the background is so blurred, otherwise the the blue lines would be too much, now I think they are just right.

Good portrait shot. I can sense thew armth of his personality with the way you cropped this picture. The colors are a bit too contrasty but it is a minor point.
