Photographer’s Note
I believe this was one of the cells reserved for political prisoners at S21 after the Khmer Rouge took control of Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh and turned this school into a prison.
Apparently only 7 of the 20,000 political prisoners who underwent torture here survived.

Often photographed this ghoulish place, but rarely so well, JP. Really a delicate, artistic take on this house of death. Composition, light control and colors all work well together to suggest dread an tragic waste.
Perhaps a tad more sharpness would be good, but this is quite a shot.
Best,
Francis
