Photographer’s Note
This is another shot from the beautiful Cambodian soil on the road from the Banteay Srei temple to Siem Reab. I'm sure you remember the "Hard work..." picture. This one was taken from the other side of the road. Children work with their parents in the field. Rice grows in small, well-watered fields at first. Then it is being replanted on a bigger area (different field) where after some time grains are harvest. This really is hard work to stay in cold water for a long time.

Hi Michal,
I like the bright green colour of the rice here. Also how the children are not concerned with the camera brings a natural feel to this photo. Very nice,

Hi Michal, a beautiful moment with the child not with the eyes in your camera. The green is bright but perhaps the lights are too strong and there is something near the child head that disturb a few..
But it rest an axcellent capture.

Hi Michal,
fantastic colours and contrast.
I visited Cambodia this year and your shots give a good idea of this beautiful country.

Something is stalling me in this shot from Cambodia, it is formally beautiful, the grass all around them is sparkling, The zooming has them squarely within it, from the compression effect, it's a beautiful painting, devoid of symbolism, save the rousseauism of "back-to-naturedness".
But I find myself wishing for more substance, and for example, imagine this intense green being a symbol of re-springing, just as the kids are, except it's a hackneyed image. Poor kids are no new spring for Cambodia, they are just hostage to a corrupted society that has very little in store to have them become dignified human beings. Your note points to that, quite actually.

Hi Michal,
Nice shot of these two kids and the rice field. The light green of the rice leaves is wonderful.

What a fantastic picture, Michal. The light green of the high grass is very eye-catching. But I like even more the human part of this picture. A good document to show under which conditions must some children to work. I like the expression of her. She is like absent, like having her mind in a different place.
A great picture which has (like many great pictures) only a few elements. There are only some grass, a river and two children to compose an excelent image.
