This is a view of the North tower, one of the five main towers of Angkor Wat, from the inside cruciform.
I tried to have keep the tower in the centre & balance the galleries on either side. But the protrusion on the top left was not helping...cropping it would have been a problem. So I left it as it is. I loved the sky & cottony clouds. The tourists with add a splash of yellow & red....I didn’t have a choice actually :)

Amazing this temple. I would wait the turists get out from the view, it disturb the calmless of the place. If it dificult, try a momment with them on hte backside and withou crop the foot
Good colors and DOF

Another view of the temple. This time from the side and putting the sky to display its beauty. Yeah, very nicely captured.
But I feel the cropping is a little tight and having this little "rock" hanging from the left corner seem distracting. Maybe a little more coverage to the right will definitely imrpove the view.
And it's nice to includes the tourists wandering around the temple.
Cheers and good day, Ang.

I can understand the difficulties when shooting in places like this. The position you chose was great and the lovely sky really helped out a lot here and so are the colours and clarity. As for the piece seen at the top left, cloning it out would be a solution. I would also show a bit more of the bottom so that the energy is not lost with the figures touching the edge of the frame. Well seen!! Best regards.

Fine place, superb sky, excellent sharpnes and interesting note. Regards.

the visitors give a sight to the scale of the huge tower with the robust carving. The combination of the dark grey iof the building and the blue and white of the sky works well.
Thanks and regards,. Gerrit

Without looking at the people, I wouldn't have known how majestic and 'powerful' this piece of architecture is. Good POV and details. TFS!

It's just perfect the way it is my friend, against the attractive sky and not in the centre of the composition. I remember your other one with only the sky and the details of this scenic tower. This place must be a magical one and I want so much to go there...
The protrusion on the top left is very well managed and works for the best in here and I like all the human elements, not only the yellow and red one, but also the dark sillouette of the one sat in right background. A very beatifull image of a gorgeous place!

This must be one of the most amazing places to visit... never been there, yet!
What makes this image different is the people lower left corner... some might consider them a disturbance, but I think they add life!
Good details in the structure, wonderfully blue sky...

Great shot of this famous and unique temple, and good composition with the tower not in the center.Usually I don`t like to see tourist on fotos like this, but here they work well for your composition.Perfect light and many nice details to see.You were lucky to have such a blue sky.
josepmarin (57829) 2006-06-08 14:27
These so great temples are difficult to fit, it is left something outside plane or always it enters something that would not have to enter him.
You have done it well, adding several people to give to a reference this monument as large as. Good lighting and with well saturated colors.
The sky it's very beautiful, too.
Regards, my friend,

If you didn't want people in shot I think you would have to wait all day and even then you might not succeed. In any case I don't think they are disturbing and add scale for people who have not been there. I think you made the right choice not to centre the tower. the sky is lovely too.
emjleclercq (15780) 2006-06-08 17:43
Yes, the clouds are really nice. The temple is also very interesting, despite its damages. I think the positionning of the tower on the left is a good idea, the small disturbance comes form the upper left part with a stone fragment in the frame but I do not know how you could cut it now...
All the best,
pranab (5354) 2006-06-09 2:59
here it is a very simple yet elegant shot because of the contrast and clarity of light. well done.

I think the framing is perfect. The toursits give a sense of the size of the huge blade that does seem to be slicing the sky. Of course I love the clouds too, I'm a real sucker for cloude and these clouds have a unique texture against the wonderful blue of the sky. !00 is coming soon, I'm looking forward to it!! Pat

A good POV of the North tower of Angkor Wat, the photo is sharp and clear. It has a good perspective and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

I find useful the presence of the tourists Angshu, they donate the just dimension to this huge monumental-tower and a beautiful touch of color to the image, good composition, compliments, the "protusion" don't disturbe the view.

Beautifully done, The Sky is excellent. The top left corner could have been cloned. I will try that in a WS.I think no other PP is necessary otherwise. The pic has very good balanced light and the POV is great.

Hi Angshuman, I like the view and clarity of this photo. I do agree with you the protrusion on top left is annoying. Perhaps use the cloning effect in Photoshop to get ride of it ?
capthaddock (28790) 2006-06-20 11:03
Hi Angshu -I really like the impressive sky, and the position of the tower also works well, even though there is the usual "tourist pollution", their clothes add an inetresting splash of colour.

I must commend you for doing a superb job here. Excellent composition. I personally find this type of scene difficult to handle with regards to exposure, but you managed it very well. The tower looks awesome against the gorgeous sky/clouds. Best wishes. Danilo
