Photographer’s Note
Hang Muan children's shelter in Battambang, Cambodia.
Really just a small open front garage-like space, facing a dusty street. It's equipped with one table, a clock, a caring woman and a small flock of angels in need of help.
It was a joy to spend time with them.
Focal length 17mm. Grain sought and encouraged.

A very strong portrait! Fantastic composition/crop. It works so well in part becasue the DOF is spot on. But it is those big eyes which really makes an impression.
I'm really curious as to how this digital noise will look in BW so I'll try out a workshop.
Cheers,
Mikkel
PS: Oops... I'm out of workshops. I'll post it when possible again.

Beautiful !
The dof and the focus are excellent. The noise, here, is useful and creates a great mood.
Impressive.

Hi Clifton, An impressive close up portrait of the kids. You have well captured their eyes. A well taken picture.

I love the intimate view here Cliff. So close to the eyes; I really get a sense that I want to know these kids personally. I usually don't mind grain, but here, it's centered on the eyes--where I would like clarity. Hmmm. I'll have to think about this one. Overall a very effective image.

Hi Cliff,
It is the eyes that capture, entrance, and say so much. Are they eyes of hope or despair? Wonder or fear? The close-up view is alluring yet disturbing. A haunting shot, Cliff, and a good contribution to the TE mission.

Hi Cliff,
What a wonderful close up! Thank you for posting this powerful double portrait shot. I was in battambong and missed this place. The grain is also a good choice to convey the situation these kids are in.
Have a nice weekend!
