Monks have been watching sunset like this for more than a thousand years from the time when Cambodia covered a much larger territory that it is now. It is my childhood dream to visit this place. Because the turmoil in the past of Cambodia, I did not think of traveling to this trouble world. Thanks to my friend Thanh Nguyen, another TrackEarth, suggested me to make this trip and provided me with immense amount of information. I got here at 5:30 in the morning. I can never forget my fist step into this land of history. I was touched by its beauty and its size.

This is an excellent picture. Great POV. The presence of the monk sitting in the middle of these impressive monuments was very well captured. The colours and contrast are superb. Good DOF. Congratulation and TFS.

Where was this monk when we were there! All throughout Siem Reap, we were awed by the beauty of the place, but our photos just didn't manage to capture the peace and beauty of the wats. This one does though - well done and TFS

Really a good frame, the monk in contrasting the landscape is well seen.
Nice exposure and good sharpness.
But it's not a B&W picture ;o} (as describe)
Good work, TFS this POV

I believe you remember this, "Not to transmit an experience is to betray it"(Elie Wiesel)
I am happy each time I can convince a friend to try what I tasted and felt good. I was glad to see Yuval and Leslie and Nhiệm coming to Yuanyang. In turn, all these friends have paid me back by sharing with me their beautiful shots.
By posting this capture, you are rewarding me with your most valuable gift. Besides, your trip prompted our friendship.
What more can I ask from you?

Hi Kiet, lovely composition of such a serene scene. They way you have captured the young monk perched on the edge of this ancient structure is almost surreal. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kiet, this is a great one. I love the POV and how the monk's legs and hands almost "touch" the prang on the left. The orange contrats well with the grey stones.

Extremely interesting picture, the composition leans itself to the vivid monk as a spiritual focal point, with impressive architectural details all around.
A tiny bit of purple fringing on the top is nothing compared to the impressive framing.

A totally Immersed one here...
I like the way you have placed in the sides....
I would have had the frame slightly up so that he moves lower in my frame..
Still a nice one.

So far I have not managed to viist Angkor Wat, I only have seen movies an photographs, but I will go and see for myself one day. You have composed and executed your shot with great sharpness, vivid color hues and perfect DOF. Even the monk is a bit out of center. Well done

Good composition, the picture speaks. The colors are great and the texture in the stone is brought out by good exposure.Ex'ent shot..
