Traditional boxing

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French] |
In spite of appearances, traditional cambodia boxing is rather not very violent, print of a long tradition and much of respect. Unfortunately it lost of its glare - with the profit of Thailand - since the war and especially since the génocide, the Khmer Rouges having prohibited it: A roof for these assassins!
The boxers do not gain almost anything - with some exceptions - separately the money that their the witnesses give after a combat. But environment extraordinary, and is boosted there, in crescendo. The ritual one are as significant there as the combat and the music completely envoûtante: It comes from the olden days, of the genesis, when it happened regularly that following a bad blow, a boxer leaves his skin there. It is now very rare - the respect precedes!
It should be also known that what everyone calls boxing Thai is not other than Khmère boxing! |

Salut Philippe,
Excellent partage.
Amicalement.
Fabrice
