Photographer’s Note
My friend and I were coming back from Kbal Spean and noticed this boy watching us in our tuk tuk from about 200 meters away. As we approached I got my camera ready and he could see I was going to take a photo. He flashed a big smile and presented himself in front of his gas stand, beaming with pride.

The boy looks a little stiff here, I think, and the way you cropped his hand off feels a little akward at best. You'd have to make a quick choice here: either go for the full body shot (including the hand) or just get in closer and shoot a portrait. I do like the environment around him and the bottles of gasoline make a nice second subject here. Also, I wish the you'd used a tad more narrow DOF here as well...the background is a bit cluttered and takes away from the shot. Not bad, but I'd like to see something more dramatic...perhaps an uposed shot would have worked better.

Hi Todd,
Love the smile of the little fellow! This is hilarious...do they really sell Gin with gasoline there?
Nice and tight framing.
Welcome to TE!

Another gorgeous portrait from you, Todd! The boy looks happy although I'm a little afraid of seeing him standing by gin and gasoline in a milk jug!
I'm very glad you didn't do a tighter crop as his surroundings say a lot about him!
