This is one of many old women giving away Incense Sticks (in return of a small donation)around the temples of Angkor.
I don't know what happend to her, but i presume she was tourtured, injured by a mine or hurt in some other way (like many others) during the Khmer Roughe regime.

This is a powerfull image, this old woman praying and not having lost her faith in spite of her condition. A note would have been appreciated, is she a victim of war or is it leprosy that she has ? It's too bad there is that black wall at the bottom. Maybe by putting a frame of the same color it could make is a little less annoying.. or cropping the pic differently.

This is a very good shot, and you have done well in capturing details, even with a very bright and contrasty background. I would personally like to see you bring the brightness of the background down a little through photoshop, as well as possibly sharpening her face slightly, as it seem a littl soft. I am sure this is not the result of a blurry photo, it just needs a little post production sharpening. Nice shot.

This is a very powerful shot. Her position in the frame is exceptional and you managed to create a wonderful shot. I would also like to know more details about her condition (if you happen to know). Just simply amazing! Very well done.

C'est une photo très difficile à regarder mais superbe.
Vous avez bien capté les détails de sa souffrance.
You make a great photo. Thanks.

Hard image. As you say, I think about this person, what is doing now, who is, what about her happiness. When I travel, I try always to be in contact with people. But my travel to Peru change my live. I've three girls under my economic protection, because they need a lot of money and we need a lot of love.

With her age, most likely she has leprosy, a common disease in Cambodia. Or maybe tortured or a mine as you write, just a guess... Nice captured by the way...

Yes, I thought I'd left a comment on this one before, but I guess not. Probably the best photo of yours posted so far. Very gripping.

Je suis allé à Angkor Wat en décembre 2002 et j'ai vu cette même dame. L'émotion que j'ai eu en la voyant m'est revenue avec votre photo. Merci!
