Phnom Santuk is a holy mountain near Kampong Thom. As you've climbed over 800 stairs, you enter the domain of a small, but active temple with lots of stupas and several wats. At the entrance a young monk is collecting donations.

I love the warm presence of the little monk in this narrow vertical frame where all the elements are attractive and significant and make up a lovely context. The textures are very fine and make part of the story too. The little monk's glance is arresting and his subtle smile is combined superbly with the smile of the figure behind him. Light, colours and atmosphere are wonderful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

what a shot Benny... Like the young monk waiting with the donation pot (and probably the yellow one on the table by which he may give some blessing to the devotees). Great vertical presentation with the beautiful golden artwork as backdrop. Nice work. Tfs.

My opinion coincides with Ourania's one.
I wonder if a crop including the bottom of the picture, including the monk and the objects on the table could not give a more punchy picture.
Very good job.

Welcome to Cambodia! Oh this is from a real old part of the country of simple photo that works a treat. Brilliant observation and capture, i get the withdrawal symptoms when looking at pictures from Indo China which brings back my fond meemories shooting there seven years ago. Looking forward to your best shots Benny, and hopefully no drastic changes take place there.
This is quite an intimate shot to me and I love the triangular arrangement there; the saffron, jossticks and the bowl with the bright diff colours have brought so much vigour plus the cool relaxing eyes/smile always adds the extra sparkle as strong focus and pulling force that excels in my eyes and lots of exotic props around to savour. The faded old time feel of the wall gives that special charm fading out of the present but excellent in the atmosphere. There's a good clarity achieved that looks so clear and crisp while the color combination is brilliant against the background. He appears so cool as is your shot, credit to your great eye, awareness, realistic and meaningful short full of content. Congrats, TFS :))

Finally, a holiday in Cambodia for you :)
What a place eh? Hope you had fun.
This is a beautiful shot, capturing the wonderful warm feel of the locals, and the monks add such colour and often deeper stories to the narrative in this fascinating country.

Hi Benny. A fine image of this patient young monk and the Khmer sculpture. Lovely colours and a creative elongated format. Regards. Klaudio.
