Photographer’s Note

Visit this former capital city of Cambodia, Oudong, with some friends. The picture of orange colored temples you see here are newly built, but this is a view from the top of the mountain.

Here is a little bit info of the mountain and the city:

Oudong (also romanized as Udong and Odongk) was a royal capital of Cambodia from 1618 to 1866, located on top of Phnom Udong, about 40 km northwest of Phnom Penh. In 1866, it was abandoned by King Norodom, taking his royal court along with him to the current capital, Phnom Penh.

It was extensively bombed by the American forces during the Vietnam War and damaged by the Khmer Rouge in 1977.[1]
