Photographer’s Note

As I mentioned in my previous picture , when I arrived to this place many women preparing the food for the breakfast of the monks.

Usually the monks go to town/village to collect to food and give their prayers for the people, but that day as first day of their month, a special day, they were gathered and having breakfast together, they chanted their prayers before and after the meal.

And kindly after that invited me to have breakfast there also.

One thing I want to ask, better flip (the monk on the left) or not ?

I like it the way it is, Cessy, without flipping. Good perspective accomplished by this view along the lineup of monks and across the breakfast table, and good use of DOF towards the figurines in the background. Nice scene.

repetation of bald head & arranged food infront with touched focus.

The answer to your question right away: No, I think the best would have been if you have shown more of the monk on the left. But I know, there is no lense wide enough... I like the incredible DOF, I think it really works for shots which have such perspective.

Well managed interior lighting with superb color & pov. I like the differential focus / shallow dof, with the fg emphasis. Bagus sekali!

A nicely atomspheric picture of this typical scene, cessy, You have got he area of sharpness is just about the right place.It gives a great feelign of the occation. Yes, in Buddhism, everything seems to end up in a free meal.I wonder what you had. regards kevi

Personally I like the scene as it is with the monks table leading to the statues, and DoF is jsut right to differentiate these two parts of the view.

This shot is full of activity and atmosphere. Good use of dof to focus our attention on the monks and the mass of plates on the table whilst at the same time providing the blurry background interest. Very nice portrayal of everyday life.
