Photographer’s Note

This is a third picture in a series devoted to one of the most fascinating temples of Angkor, Ta Prohm. What is really special about Angkor temples, is that they feature not only large buildings, that impress with their size and architectural layout, like Angkor Wat. Angkor temples have also so many detalis, like carvings that cover almost all the walls, porches, pillars, windows and so.

This is the carving above the door in the middle of Ta Prohm, under a huge tree which covers the structure with its roots. It dates back to the end of 12th century, and bearing this in mind it is remarkably well preserved. You can see a bigger view here and here.
