Photographer’s Note
Taken seconds before this image - just a different perspective on the scene. Not sure which I prefer, all comparisons welcome!
That original photo will give enough details on Ta Prohm so no need for me to repeat here.
I like the guy in the window as he adds scale to the scene, helps highlight the enormity of the tree roots.
pp - cropped, resized and some brightness/contrast fiddling. And a frame added.

Cambodia travelogue

Good shot, an amazing structure. Great with the lounging people, just taking it for granted.
A better persepctive on the overall nature of this building, though other image equally good, especially with the boy looking off to the side of the shot. TFS

You what James, I saw this kind of photo too many times in Cambodia... and that makes me tend to neglect the quality of this photographic look. However, a closer look of your photo shows its photographic quality. Very well done James. Sothy

Hello James, I've seen it in TV but the real scale is much more amazing when seeing your photo. The man in the window is a really good idea...

Hi James. Ideal shot for TE. Something we don't usually see close to home. Good sharpness and colours. Murray.

Great composition and angle. What's unfortunate is that, although the tree roots LOOK nice, they actually are tearing the temples apart, making it very hard for conservators and archaeologists to maintain and study historically-rich sites such as these. What's more sad is that the Cambodian government has chosen to not cut down the roots simply because the tourists like the way they look :(. Soon there will be no more temple if we let the trees take over like this...just two cents from an art history major. Beautiful shot nevertheless!

I like the muted colours, and I agree that the guy(s) in the window help with the composition.
