This shot was taken at Ta Prohm and the Guardian Lion to the right became the subject of interest. Stone lions similar to this one are also found in other temples in Cambodia.
While stone lions can be found in many other cultures, it is extensively used by the Chinese (called shishi ) to ward off bad luck and protect the inhabitants from all harm. This explains its presence usually in temples, business premises and even residential homes.
I came across a shot by Maxifred showing a “Poor Stone Lion” in Belgium which you might find interesting.

Ta Prohm was one of my favourite Angkor Wat temples. Good upward pov here with superb sharpness & pastel colours. Excellent fg shadow detail & nice textural details on the jungle clad ruins. Terima kasih!
