Photographer’s Note
Ta Prohm. Of all the most famous temples of Angkor, this one stands out as the 'jungle' one. It has a very special atmosphere, as you can really feel (at least a bit) how it was to discover Angkor, when it was utterly forgotten deep in the jungle. today hordes of tourists spoil this impression, but if you are lucky (and arriving in the wet season helps a lot), you can have the place almost completely to yourself. And hiding in the corridors of the temple to survive a sudden downpour is a great experience!
This is one of the most famous places in Ta Prohm, there are many photos of this tree around on TE, but still this is a kind of photo you simply have to add to your Angkor gallery.
Hint for visitors - if you like Ta Prohm, don't forget to include Preah Khan and the distant Beng Malea in your itinerary!

Hello Michal,
A view that is surprising each time you see these with trees overgrown temples. Natural shades of green and brown, with the drops in the water bringing a lively element. But somewhat oversharpened to my taste ?

Paul

Hi Michal,
There you stood, just like me, pressed with you back against the wall to capture all the essence of this fantastic temple. Just like me you saw that even the widest angle was not enough, so what to do? I made a 4 stitch 16m/m vertical image and posted it here last year, it was the only way to show how narrow it was inside there.
Seeing yours i must admit it doesn't look bad either. And that you were in the rainy season, seems it's still raining when you took this one. A lot of water on the floor, but it brings also a very deep green colour above on the wall what looks great here.
What time is this one taken, because i couldn't make a decent shot without any tourist inside the frame, so i return next morning very early to capture the silence and beauty of this wonderful temple.
Despite the narrow feeling, a good shot under the circumstances, well done.
Regards,
Henk

Hi Michal,
although a classical and often seen place, it´s always impressing. I think you made a special picture here, with a perspective showing the full power of nature reconquering human terrain.
Compliments, christian
