Photographer’s Note
People who have visited Angkor know such image well, as there are literally hundreds of Apsaras carved in the walls of Angkor temples.
In Cambodian tradition Apsaras were angels, who represented heaven on earth. Each of their statues carved in stone is different - not only their faces are different, but also they vary in poses, gestures, hairstyle and other details. It is believed that each one was carved by a different man, and therefore they express their creators' individual images of angels.
Apsara tradition is still alive and you can see their performances in several places in Siem Reap.
As you can see here, the rainy season brings vibrant colors to Angkor temples, so it is a perfect time to visit.

Hi Michal, Well cropped and a POV showing the 3-dimensional nature of this very old stone carving. The textures are benefitial to this image. I like the earthy colours a lot. TFS. Murray.

Michal,
Yes I have many of similar shots as well. Too many that I have to delete some of them or I didn't process all of them. this one is very nice I like the very colorful stain and giving that more rustic look and the shadow give it that 3 demensional quality. the texture and details really shows well here. Thanks
Way
