Unlike Chong Knheas which is a non permanent floating village, this Kompong Phluk is a permanent one.
High over the ground, during the rainy season, the water can go up to the edge of the house (about 3-4 metres above the ground).
However during the dry season, one can wonder about, or making crafts under the house.
The main income of this village is by fishing and breeding shrimps. Using the hammock (a very common and can be found almost in every houses), this girl was making for fish traps. I saw you in the workshop , another girl also making the traps.

Another good photograph from you, providing us with a different perspective into the life of people from Cambodia. I like these dark colours of the photograph and the concentration on the face of the girl which you have captured well. Very good, insightful, shot.

Great shot! I like the diagonal line and the way you placed the girl at the edge of the frame. The lighting is great too. Well done!

I like the grid structure in the background adding good framing to the subject for your composition. Also nice natural lighting. A great portrait.

That's another nice view you share after the incredible one I saw yesterday. The colors are nice and even if it looks like the light was not easy to manage, the overall impression is quite impressive. She has a nice expression on her face and her fingers are not forgotten ! It may seem stupid but without a nice view on the fingers, the shot would have been failed to me. I am already waiting the next one !

Hi Cessy. Despite the good colors I feel like this would work as a b/w as well. I also like the border you came up with. I've never seen that done on TE before. Very nice daily life catch Cessy.

Hi Cessy. Nice environmental portrait of the girl assembling the fish trap. Even in the low-ish light you managed good details and colors, and an interesting graphical aspect is provided by the surrounding elements inside this room. I think the workshop is the better photo and you should consider to give it more visibility as a posting of its own.

This time I have to agree with you in your choice of the main posting and the WS. Artistically the WS is probably the more outstanding, but the main posting gives such a personal athmosphere by showing the girl in her work and at the same time her natural daily surrounding. Her face shows a smile of happiness in what she does ... It looks to be a very intimate moment that you captured here.

Interesting, normally I see someone sitting or lying on a hammock relaxing. Great human interest shot.

This photo and the previous one are really excellent from a ligh management point of view, the overall atmosphere helped by the black frame is quite dark, but the subject stands out very well against it and in the end the photo is luminous, I like it. Again here as well a very good framing of the scene.
Have a nice day,

Very well captured daily life scene Cessy, despite the low light you have managed to obtain fine details and colors. I also like think the workshop, maybe prefer the WS mayeb you should post it individually.

Great colours and light - I really like the concentrated yet relaxed expression on her face - that contented and slightly enigmatic smile - a very filmic image - a very nice candid observation Cessy.
best wishes Kev

I've looked through a few of your photos after you commented on my umbrella one. I love the colours in shots like this one. I've been to Cambodia. I loved it. Looking at your photos takes me back.
