Trawling through my archives I came across this shot from Cambodia and decided to resurrect it. I think it was taken late afternoon, but memory is uncertain. To get the tonal range present in the slide I merged two scans

This is a familiar sight to me, a classic shot, yet it is very well done. The combination of wide angle and low pov creates a majestic effect. I also really like the inclusion of the visitors, because they add a sense of dimension to the scene and by doing so, make it even more impressive. Excellent job!

It is a long time I think to visit Angor, this photo makes this wish stronger.
Nice composition bottom to top against this nice sky. The people in the frame help to provide the scale.

Great shot of an iconic location Steve - a touch of lens distortion but the whole shot is stunning so who cares! An excellent scan.

un bel primo piano del tempio campogiano in ottimo POV orizzontale.
La luce è ben gestita e la resa cromatica è eccellente.
Compliments and TFS!

Only eight years ago and you don't remember what time of the day this was!
I remember watching these steps at about 11:30 AM (alright, less than three years ago) and deciding they were too steep. A fine wide-angle view that captures the enormity of this temple very well.

ah, the Velvia sky, nothing comes close to it :) the blue colour literally shines, especially against the warmer tones of the temple. I like the photo a lot, simple composition works really well to show the intricate textures of the walls, while the people look like ants. shadows add a nice depth and 3D sense, great shot.

What a sky and this temple is amazing. Good capture with the light and shade, great sharpness in the fine detail. Stare at this long enough and the clouds begin to look like they are moving and draws you in. If only the walls could talk, what stories could they tell.

Hi Steve, this is not just an excellent piece of photography, it's an excellent example of scanning, I don;t think I've seen a scan of this quality before. Anyway, to the photo. The clouds really help emphasise the grandeur of this building, I love how you;ve played with the light and accentuated the amazing texture and structure. The low and angled POV is superb. Congratulations, I look forward to seeing many more from your trawling expedition (and hopefully some new ones if you managed to get away over Xmas). Cheers, Lisa

The light on the temple is very beautiful, I must say. This shot looks like an hdr to me.

Impressive angle of this famous Cambodian icon. You were fortunate to have blissful weather to compliment the anchient structure. The few people in this photo give indication to the monumental size of this Wat and makes the creation of this ancient city even more awe inspiring. Great use of light to bring out all the features of the facade. Wonderful. TFS.
