And tourists take pictures of tourists taking pictures of kids, and then put them on the internet. Why? Not judging, just thinking. Yesterday's I loved (actually, it was my very first favorite); this one leaves me with very mixed feelings, and yet, I know there's really no difference between the two. The more I look at it, the more I wonder.

Interesting image, good to see this type of shot from a third person, makes me wonder who got the better shot :)

I read Mimi's post and I think that this one is a lot more potent than yesterday's, and indeed forces us to ask ourselves questions. That's why we have a brain and a conscience after all. And better than being totally indifferent.
I think by putting another photographer in the shot, a shot of a shot, you have turned around the subject back to all of us behind a camera. My personal take is that when we travel, we must not just go from one place to another, camera in hand, but open up our soul as much as the arperture, and allow this experience to affect us and change us.
Any trip where we go back home the same as we were before, is a waste, no matter how pretty the pix in the box. We might as well be ghosts. This is also the only way to go beyond one's generic identity as a tourist.

Their world and our world. A picture that tells a lot.

sad scene for the kids but despite that they still wear a beautiful smile. I like the idea of including the photographer makes us think how we view the beautiful world despite of everything and learn from it....rgds

splendid shot! the light and the compo are perfect. the kid's smile makes it not a sad photo, it transpires optimisim.. and it makes a great shot because of that.. there is no voyeurism in this shot! bravo!
happy new year to you

Beautiful composition and lighting but this photograph is of the saddest thing I have ever seen, it has made me cry, with the tourist in the shot it makes you see who we are, visiting these foreigh developing countries and we take photos of impovrished children. This Is Amazing. The kids are smiling and so proud and happy for their photos taken, but this photo shows their naivety and their pitifulness, this tourist is taking picture to showw where hes been. Its discousting. But we all do it, and that is what is appalling about the photo, it reveals us the tourists as these shameless richies coming to show the intriguing horrors of their travels, and the people, the children smile like they are being shot as people. Fantastic Shot
