Photographer’s Note
These shells are the most common street food one can find in Phnom Penh.
They are boiled, salted and some like it with chilly powder.
In the WS you can see the shell seller and her stall.

bonsoir Marilyn,
I really like the way you have composed this shot, with the red shells in one corner and the white ones and the hand in the opposite corner.
the gesture of the hand is inviting and doesn't look staged, and that adds value to the image.

bonjour Marilyn
Did you try it?
If one thinks too much about dust and dirt on the roads of Phnom Penh like Howard Hughes, it is going to be impossible to live, but living is a good thing here.
To see this post, reminds me of the most common scene along everywhere. And it reminds me of the trip memories. We should have tried that for lunch the 1st day we met :)
A fine TE post.

Chum Reap Liya, Lyn

Hello Marilyn
Very nice capture of the moment with the well tan hand just about to scoup the red coloured shells. It reminds me of what I saw but never have the courage to try it.

Hi Marliyn,
I remember seeing these everywhere too, though for fear of becoming ill I never tried them!
I like the focus of the shot highlighting not the hand, but the actually shells - after all the subject is the food. The composition divided by the colours and the hand works well, as does the square crop. Nicely taken!
All the best

Hola Marilyn.
It looks very tasty, warm and reach in flavor. very well captured with good colors, sharpness and frame. I like the presence of the hand, it give your shot a sense of motion of the vendor trying to catch some shell for you. Very good light management.
TFS.
Greetings.

Bonjour Marilyn,

Bonsoir Marilyn,
A very good capture and an informative photo of these shells. The sharpness is good and I like the colour contrast, created by the red shells in the foreground. The hand is a nice inclusion too. Thanks for sharing!

Bonjour Marilyn
Effective tight framing & good repetition of the snails. The diagonal placement of the hand works well here. Superb dof & sharpness. Tfs!

Hello Marilyn,
I think that this is a very interesting image, a daily-life scene that you captured and composed in the best possible way. I also like so much the complete view of the seller in the ws.
Details and colours are excellent, and the presence of the hand gives a great dynamism to the photo.
Have a great day.
A dear hug.

Bonsoir Marilyn,

Marilyn, the red hues of the Chili powder mixed with the live cockerels is well captured in your picture. Good composition.
Actually in Thailand these cockerels are eaten a bit different, they are dipped in a spicy dip of freshly sliced chilies, smashed Thai garlic, lime juice and fish sauce.

Dag Marilyn,
I like your association with this classical movie. This is a fantastic illustration. Especially because one part of the shell is hot, but there enough for those who doesn’t like it hot.

Salut Marilyn,
Amicalement,
José

Hello Marilyn
Such a fantastic idea to capture this daily moment.
I like your choice to crop it in close, adds so much detail to the shells, and the two colours mix so well (red and light brown)
Fabulous sharpness!
Great shot!
