Photographer's Note

In Cambodia, there are only a few main roads that are tarred. If you live away from those and don't have a car or a bike, there will always be motodops (motorbike taxi driver are called that way there)even in remote places...

Au Cambodge il y a peu de routes goudronnées... Si vous habitez loin de tout, il y aura toujours un motodop (c'est comme ça qu'ils appellent les chauffeurs de moto-taxi), même dans les zones les plus reculées.

Hello Laurent,

An amazing diaognal composition, very well planned and refined in every way. The placement of the motorbike in the frame is also perfectly done. And the lighting is fabulous, really not exaggrating. One of the best efforts I saw for a while. I think this shot would also be very suitable to be rendered as a B&W, actually I've tried it and liked the result. Thanks for sharing this great work. Strange to see Australian eucalyptus trees in Cambodia, and I saw a lot of them in Vietnam too. Apparently they are fast growing, for the wood, & absorb a lot of water from marsh & swamp. Anyway good repetition of the trees & the cyclist animates the shot. Superb colour & sharpness. Bon weekend!

yeσ i remember this kind of Cambodia roads,with the reddish ground to be the main characteristic of them.
I like the existence of the trees line on the right, with the pair on the motorized bike to adds live in the image.

The recession of trees makes a lovely background for the motocyclist and passenger. The colours are warm and gentle and I like the textures and shadows on the dirt road. Beautifully photographed.

this is a great photo for TE, its shows the cultural side of life.
Its a life that we don't have here in Canada, if we rode on motorbikes like this here, the Police would pull us over!
i also enjoy the long line of trees, and the quiet nature of the scene.

plus cabossées que nos grands routes européennes, certes, mais sans doute aussi bien plus naturelles, en tous cas, joliment bordées d'arbres bien alignées que cette vue en perspective permet de voir.
Clin d'oeil à des moyens de transports modestes mais quand il fait bon, c'st surement bien agréable.

j'aime la perspective des arbres parfaitement alignés à côté de cette route sans goudronner, la profondeur de l'image, et le dynamisme qui nous offre cette moto-taxi qui ajoute une touche de vitalité et d'action à la scène.

Bonjour Laurent,
Belle capture qu'il fallait réaliser juste au bon moment pour obtenir cette composition : Bel effet rendu par la moto à droite de la route, semblant d'ailleurs dévier en diagonale vers le photographe :-)
La haie d'arbres est très élégante et la route est plus jolie que si elle était goudronnée, même si le confort doit souffrir à cause de la poussière ou de la boue en temps de mousson.
