Back to Cambodia. Many people know about "Songkran" or the Thai New Year, which is in fact in the middle of April and can last up to a week. And like Thailand, Cambodia and Laos and perhaps Burma have the equivalent celebrations. Wikipedia calls the Cambodian equivalent: Chaul Chnam Thmey. Regardless of the country as many folks know, it is one big crazy water throwing festival. My experience in Battambang, was I must say thankfully more mellow then in the other countries!
This photo was taken way out along a road a dirt road from Battambang, which followed a river that drained into the Tonle Sap Lake. Under the typical raised house the children and adults relax in the shade. For a larger view: Click Me
