Photographer’s Note
About 1km from the Angkor Wat complex, a local hotel has an expensive ride ($US15)in a balloon that rich foreigners can go straight up and down in. It has a guide wire that runs through the middle of a circular platform that passengers can walk around on and take in a 360 degree view of the area. Angkor Wat can be seen very well in the distance when you ride the balloon. The ride lasts for about 15 minutes and gives a great perspective of the Siem Reap area.
As my friends have very good cameras, and I have my little Casio, they were taking all their shots with their big zoom lenses pointed at Angkor. As I don't have a camera that takes great scenic shots, I decided to take some shots of our transportation. And this is the result. Looking straight up, the sun seemed to be a little too high to get a good colour scheme on the balloon but it's still quite bright.
Great view too!

nice photo and great colours craig. this is a good shot of the balloon from inside. it has an unusual perspective. the ropes and metal make nice lines. blue and yellow work well to make a great contrast.
great shot!

Very intesting POV. I love cable details against blue sky. Wonderful shot. TFS.

Good job working within the limitations of your camera. Focus is good, colours are good and composition good too. Could try to brighten the yellow up a bit I suppose but I have no serious complaints.

Hi Craigh.
I remember this balloon from Angkor, and the funny part is that allthough the view from it is amazing, the best shots seem to be of the balloon itself.

Craig the upwards viewpoint really turned out interesting results in this setting. I like the arrangement of roping in this frame. Good work!

A fantastic portfolio you have, Craig. This is a great POV and a good use of the equipment that you had on hand. I've just gotten a big zoom lens from a friend in the U.K. and don't quite know what to do with it, I've had a regular lens so long!
Well seen & TFS,
Alli
P.S. Your thumbnail on your intro page cracks me up! I love that little British baby!
