Photographer’s Note
Poipet is on the border with Thailand. Anyone coming to Angkor Wat by land from Bangkok, is bound to pass through this border town. For me the interesting thing about this border town was the endless and unexplainable foot traffic, and human powered 2-wheel wagons. These wagons were big, with huge loads on some of them, and they seemed to be moving in both directions, both into Cambodia and into Thailand. On the Thai side(Varanyapathet), is a huge market where they sell wholesale clothes of all kinds. My theory is that the clothes come from Cambodia where perhaps they were given from other countries as aid. Anyway, hopefully someone is still benefiting.
As I waited outside the building for my Thai friend to clear the customs, I took many pics of the stream of people passing along. This young man, was one of the endless stream of Wagonneers, and he certainly new how to smile for the camera.

This is a very nice photo with a very helpful note. I like the way this subject is right in the middle of the photo- some might disagree but I think it works very well in this case. Excellent job!

Great focus and pride face of the boy. Yes this is Poi Pet. I went there and I found it so interesting. Good documentation. Sothy

Nice job Steve. In a similar situation you might want to step just left so the traffic cone is out of frame...I'll leave you a smiley (critique rather than a comment) anyway.
Great Job.

Too many pix lately relying on compo and skills, but short on spontaneity and real contact, in the Cambodia gallery. yours come against a busy background which could have (maybe?) been avoided by lowering and shooting up a bit or aiming a bit more on the right where the other worker follows, but you have to be congratulated for catching such a moment of complicity between the kid and you. You may not win many prizes with such a pix, but life is bursting out of it and that is what traveling with a camera is about, too. Thanks for sharing this.
