The monsoon had reached Mondulkiri. Walking back from the morning market the black clouds rolled in and the heavens opened. Had no choice but to take shelter in this petrol station cum fruit stall with this small crowd. By the time the rained eased off I had managed to gain their trust for a group picture.
The town of Sen Monoram is little more than a three sided roundabout, three red laterite roads, a disused airstrip and a small market. But the surrounding area is stunning. A few of the villages still work elephants, the beasts being the most apt to negoiate the small jungle paths.

Hi Elaine, I saw the thumbnail this morning, and without seeing the name I knew it was yours. Which means that you have your own style, i guess.
Wow, how they smile at you (not all though), and how proud they all look at you. It is really very wet, the color of the foremost puddle is beautiful, BTW ;-)
I love the woman in the pink blouse!

I would not mind to be under this rooftop with all the delicious vegetables and fruits
If the butcher is near by its going to be a great party
It a good and natural group photo, people come over as friendly ,except the one in the middle all covered up, didnít she want to be recognized or is it a religious thing ?

Nice pov, and great how all the people seem to be arranged in a very disciplined manner, the brown muddy floor is so well captured.
