A visit in a Phnong village, the rice is drying. I have been told that later on it will be used to create the local alcohol...

Hi Yan
Dynamic pov really showing off the rice (pity they use it for alcohol). I like the scene in the background with the boy running off. The colourful clothes stand out well against the deep green of the vegetation. Great atmosphere with the highly charged clouds.

Nikki

Hi, Yan. The mood here is beautiful, with the cloudy sky and the boy running down the slope of red earth. But I have trouble finding a focal point. The figures looking at the camera are not quite in the depth of field, so they are kind of vague and poetic, which I like, but in this context, they seem disconcerting to my eyes. I just don't know where to look. I think a deeper DOF, and maybe a different aspect ratio, landscape instead of portrait, might have worked better to document this scene. Best regards, -Hugh

Hi Yan,

This is really amazing shot to me. I love this great wideangle view of this rice drying from the highland areas. I like how you frame it with showing the significant of the rice and making the BG with people presence. I like it. This is what I call learning the earth thru photography. A real one.

Hi Yan,
Amazing shot!
It is very excellent how to put the round plates and the people.
Especially I love reddish deep tone.
Regards,
Hisashi

J'aime beaucoup commnt tu utilises le bokeh dans tes images recentes - c'est tres intelligent, et subtil aussi...
A+
Francis

This works great, and I like the focus. The main part of the story here is the rice so I think it's fine having that in focus and the people being secondary. Colour is good again.

UN mot un seul, le temps me manque.

Aouaaaaaaaaa, trop belle

Vince

Bien amené, le fond un peu flou avec les enfants situe bien le lieu ainsi que la maison au toit végétal. Les couleurs contrastent bien.
Bien vu,
Jean-Claude

Allez avoue, tu leur a filé la recette de la paella... c'est ça non?? amusant ton idée de faire le point sur ces plat de riz qui sechent plutôt que sur les personnages du fond.. mais pas totalement convaincu néanmoins... eput etre trop de contrastes de couleurs?? bref, j'hésite;;

Eric (à sec de tte façon ;-) )

hello Yan,

Great angle and compo. also the colours adds to the special atmosphere. i like this one very much !
greetings, inn

what a beautiful village. With those monsoon clouds your days must have been wonderful in the place. Nice composition and documentary shot. Very Natl Geo feel. I do think you needed a bit more sharpness here, perhaps a tiny bit of shake...a tripod would be handy, or a fill-in flash under these circumstances with low light and high f stop.

Excellent use of the frame. Very full. Wonderful natural colours too. The low viewpoint works well here. Nice work.

Hi Yan,

What are you focussing on in this one?! I'd have gone for the family in the background, but you seem to aim for the alcohol ;-). Focus seems to be on the beginning of the second plate... Why?

Greetings! Dennis

Bonjour Yan,

Jolie composition, avec des coleurs chaudes très sympas.
Marie

Hi Yan
This is a very beautifull composition with the graphism of the round bascet.
You give us a nice report on Mondolkiri.
