9.59a.m. - This is my first attempt on seascape. The sea is always dear to me as I was brought up in a small fishing town by the seaside. I spent a lot of my time on the beach, swimming; catching crabs and shellfish; scooping small shrimps when it’s the season; enjoying the evening sunsets and even camped on the beach.
This is Jerudong beach (20 minutes drive from the town centre)where I tried to let you enjoy the scene without much distraction except for the waves’ breaker which was built to prevent erosion and to lessen the under current so that the area is safer for swimming. I would like you to just feel the wind gushing against your face and the rhythmic sound of the breaking waves filling the air. I have also omitted the human element as I want you to be just with nature like the way I always enjoyed.

PP- slight cropping and adjusted levels.

Hello Aloysius,
Wow! The cloud formations in several layers are quite amazing! Beautiful hues of blue, contrasted by the manmade structure... The diagonal surf adds dynamics and life you your capture... Well done for a first try, keep them coming!
Regards,
Pablo -

Hi Aloysius,
For your first attempt on a seascape this one is a very good one. It likes and seems to much my beaches coastline with the similar wave breakers and water color. Good enquadrement, great and high blue sky with nice cloud formation, good colors, light and fine sharpness.

Well seen, done and composed. Congratulations and Best to you.
Fernando

Hi Aloysius,
great seascape, very interesting lines of clouds, nice sky and good composition. I like it a lot. Well done.

Hi Aloysius,
Not bad at all for a first try, this big white cloud is interesting as I can't quite figure out where it originates from, it's also very well exposed. Its reflection on the wet sand looks interesting judging from the lowest part of your photo, maybe you could have built on this choosing a vertical format ?
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

For me it is not the sea scape that appealed to me the most in this photo but the brilliant cumulous clouds that you have captured along with it
thanks for sharing this photo ... regards .. .sarju
PS: It is not usual to see so very few cumulous clouds on a clear sky.

Hi Aloysius, You have captured some special cloud formation here. Nice composition to have 1/3 of the image to the ocean wave and the clear horizon. Nice blue tone sky with layers of cloud in the picture. A well taken picture.

Hej Aloysius,
A very good seascape I think. The stones in the middle of the shot as well as the huge cloud make the picture very interesting. Good colours and clarity too, well done!

Hi Aloysius. I think you were very successful with your first attempt of a sea shot. You might want to try a burn tool across the sky in Photoshop to give it that extra kick. Very nice one Aloysius!

Photography the seascaptes is quite a hard job and this is a very good first attemp here.
If the purpose in framing is to find "furniture" for an empty space, here this is a succes with the cclouds, and the stone protection.
Colors are also attractive, the place is well shown.
I try a suggestion in giving you some of the tricks from the Brittany seascapers :))), for a pure seascape we go for the most low POV which is possible and so we try to increase the volume of the waves and the breaking ones even if they are small, for an element as regular as the stone protection is we don't put in the picture a great part for it exeption is made if there are interesting things in it and if reducing we generaly go for a POV giving a little perspective. One other important thing is the horizon we try to have it down (as down it is possible) the supersctures in order to show them hight (boats, piers) and this is generally obtained by a low POV too.

Hi Aloysius
there is a nice paralelism between the ground and the cloud in the sky. Beautifull light and colors. Well done
Bertrand

Hi Aloysius, I like this simple but yet visual stunning view. The clouds and the wave barrier gave a good balance of sea and sky.
Well done.

Hi Aloysius,
A simple but very effective shot. I like the positioning of the jetty in the frame and how clearly we can see the multi coloured stones in it. The sky is full of drama and texture, while the curling foamy white waves add a dynamic feel. Very good management of light here. Well done.
John

The very large cumulonimbus cloud in the picture assists the composition, without it the scene would need to be cropped very tightly to hold the composition together.
