Rickety Walkway Photo

Photographer’s Note

It was low tide and I found this rickety walkway when I was hunting around the water village for interesting scenery to shoot. I can see villagers still using this walkway to go out to catch the water taxis that ply the river although the condition does not look that favourable.
These walkways are usually built through the cooperation of the villagers. The government would supply the timber through the headman of the village and the villagers would come together during the weekend to build it. It is also aimed at fostering goodwill and harmony in the village.

Nice picture. I liked the reflections on the water. You could search for another place where the water is "smoother" and capture the great reflections that would be there. And what about that red can on the groud? What is that? See you! Regards!

As others said, the reflection makes this picture. The change in the water texture from flat to rippled frames the reflection well. Without the sand bars I could see this shot being very disorienting.

Exciting composition with some awesome reflections! Some would probably say the trash in the water is a minus... To me they are a part of reality, we should alway depict the world the way it is not the way we wish it were...
