Photographer’s Note

8.05p.m. - The Chinese lunar New Year falls on the 7th February, so I am taking this opportunity to wish everyone celebrating this occasion a happy and prosperous New Year.
This shot was taken in front of a car distributor company here in Gadong, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The rats are depicted as the coming year is the year of the rats, the first of the twelve animals in the cycle. Old fashion Chinese would normally ask you which animal you are born to instead of asking how old you are, as the moment you disclose the animal and through quick mental calculation they would immediately know your age. You will be surprised how fast they can come up with the answer.

Hi Aloysius,

No snow in Brunei to disturb the Chinese New Year like in great parts of China.
The picture should also fit perfectly for the carnival that end tomorrow in great parts of Europe and Brasil.
