Photographer’s Note
7.44p.m. - Still on the Sultan’s birthday celebration and after showing the decorations close to the Palace I thought that I should also show what was happening downtown. Arches were erected at important sections of the roads with well wishes written across them and they too were fully lit. In fact there was a competition for the most beautiful arch built.
In this shot I tried to optimize on the colours of the lights, trying to record as it should look in real situation. I find it hard to avoid some of the strong glares from spotlights. I also tried to avoid the crowd by choosing the lull between important activities. I thought they would distract us from enjoying the colours.
PP – Cropped to select the best format and decided to go for the square. Slight sharpening and used the super smooth filter to remove some noise in the lower section.

Hi Aloysius,
Another fabulous scene of this birthday celebration. Your large format here allows the eye to wander all over the frame and appreciate the electric and sizzling details. The exposure was very appropriate here and your cropping and framing are superb.

Hi Aloysius. Another great shot from the Sultan's birthday. Personally I like the star burst pattern coming from the lights. It was a very, very good idea to use a tri-pod otherwise this shot would have been a mess with movement in the lights. Nice work Aloysius.

Hi Aloysius
Superbly saturated colors, with an excellent time exposure, that provided good contrast & lighting. Bagus sekali!
