Long Boats and Pebbles
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
These long boats are used to transport visitors from the Outward Bound Centre to the upper reaches of the Temburong river where they would trek and view the beauty of the tropical rainforest. A canopy walk is also available so you can see the forest from the tree top. These boats have flat bottom and thus able to travel in shallow water. An outboard engine is usually fitted and paddles are used to negotiate between rocks.
Picture taken at 11.30am when the sun is overhead. |

Interesting shape of the boats, they really are shallow water boats! Interesting picture combined with your note.
From a more technical point of view, I like the view from above and the way the boats are placed in the picture. Their color is also interesting. You could have cropped the dark band at the top, and as you say the light is very harsh (but I guess you didn't have much choice).

I like the composition with the two boats vert much, so I don't understand why this picture only has two points. Nice light and dark part of the picture, well done!
C'est une photo qui est très bien composée et plaisante à regarder. Je l'ai ajoutée au thème "Twins".
A lower point of view would have made it better...
Have you tried the same in B&W? would look better with the pebbles...
Hi Aloysius,
Interesting composition! I like the sleek lines in the river boats... Even if the sun's in Zenit you manage lighting well... You POV gives quite a dynamic capture

Lovely boats! Not very stable, right?
