This is a Buddhist monk performing the two-hour long Black Cat Dance at the start of an annual festival of dance and story telling. The festival lasts all day, and the costumes are wonderful, as you can see.
The festival is held all over Bhutan at a date decided by the local astrologer; however, one of them got the date wrong so we got to see two festivals on different days! |
