A group of monks on a shopping tour in Paro town in western Bhutan. This is actually the main street (more or less the only street) in Paro, a town well known to all foreign visitors to Bhutan, since this is where the country's only airport is located.
Bhutan is the only Buddhist monarchy in the world and the monasteries and the monks play a very important part in peoples' lives. Politics and religion are so intertwined that the chief Lama is regarded as equal to the King.

Hej Gert,
Colour-wise a very good scan, how much post-processing did you do here? The POV is fine and the perspective also good. You should have moved away the dust-bin before taking the photo...

Hello Gert,
Excellent témoignage de la vie des moines au Bouthan. le cadrage est bon et les couleurs naturelles. Bravo et bon dimanche

Hello Gert,
First of all, thanks for your kind critique on my portrait of two village girls from the hills of India.
I rarely link up with Trekearth these days; I am more active on Treknature. Sorry for the late return critique on your work.
You picture of the monks on a street in Paro is essentially the work of a journalist. It captures the essence of the place very effectively.
I like the exterior of the building against which the monks stand. It is beautiful in its totality.
Thanks and best regards.
Ram
I really like the composition here, especially the lines going straight to the corners on the left. Opened door nicely closes (yeah, closes -sounds ridiculous, I know)the composition on the right. The first monk's face is visible, making him the representative of the rest, turned away from us. Well done!
Regards
Joanna
