Photographer’s Note

Bhutan is a very mountanious country. Dark and deep forests and the fantastic rivers are the parts of this magnificent country.

The northern region consists of an arc of glaciated mountain peaks with an extremely cold climate at the highest elevations. Most peaks in the north are over 23,000 feet (7,000 m) above sea level; the highest point is claimed to be the Kula Kangri, at 24,780 feet (7,553 m), but detailed topographic studies claim Kula Kangri is wholly in Tibet[citation needed] and modern Chinese measurements claim that Gangkhar Puensum, which has the distinction of being the highest unclimbed mountain in the world, is higher at 24,835 feet (7,570 m). Watered by snow-fed rivers, alpine valleys in this region provide pasture for livestock, tended by a sparse population of migratory shepherds.

The Black Mountains in central Bhutan form a watershed between two major river systems: the Mo Chhu and the Drangme Chhu. Peaks in the Black Mountains range between 4,900 feet and 8,900 feet (1,500 m and 2,700 m) above sea level, and fast-flowing rivers have carved out deep gorges in the lower mountain areas. Woodlands of the central region provide most of Bhutan's forest production. The Torsa, Raidak, Sankosh, and Manas are the main rivers of Bhutan, flowing through this region. Most of the population lives in the central highlands...

Hello Ihsan,
A very beautiful nature picture with the green forest on the FG and all those mountains between the clouds. Specially good on this picture is that you included a part of a road with that truck. It gives us an impression how exciting (and difficult) driving or travelling in this country can be and it gives also a better idea of the stateliness of the landscape.

Inanilmaz bir manzara. Nepal gezimizde bu tur goruntulere bizde sahit olduk ama bu kadar genis alani kapsayan bir manzaraya denk gelmedik hic.. Sizde harika bir sekilde goruntulemissiniz. Kompozisyon ve renkler cok guzel. ellerinize saglik,

You are so lucky to have seen this country, it's not at all as I imagined it (having been several times in Tibet) but then in neighbouring Sikkim (also Darjeeling sometimes) I had the same weather conditions and south of the Himalayas one has to expect much more cloudy weather.
Inspiring view (and I guess, HDR ? Some typical white halos around the edge of some pine trees and slopes...)

What a nice picture ! This scene looks really unreallistic, with the dark clouds in the background and the lush forest in the frount ground. The road winding up on the left side looks really steep and adds composition to this picture.
