Photographers Note
This is the monk's room, near the Memorial Chorten in Thimpu. Some Chortens, like this one, are built in memory of an individual, while others commemorate the visit of a saint or a great lama. The stupa is not too spectacular when compared for instance to Swayambunath in Kathmandu, but this room adjacent to the stupa and decorated with typical Bhutanese curtains was quite interesting. Not too many tourists in Bhutan, but this picture was taken some 10 years ago, and things may have changed a little bit.

Amicalement,
Francis

Hi Izzet.
It's great the blur on the man and how the others are looking at you.
Well done!

This one is fresh, unique and lively and indeed very busy with plenty of action. I like the way you have captured the lights and those people all seem to be looking the same side. The textures are lovely. theres an element of vividness in the colours. Good perspective and position.

Merhaba,
I sat next to a group of Bhutanese students flying to Izmir for the University Games two years, and it did seem like things were changing, albeit at a more gradual pace than the rest of the world. Regarding the photo, it presents a familiar atmosphere in a very special way. The blurry figure effect works better here, when there is just one person in motion while the others are holding still. Nice and warm 100VS colors add to the appeal. I also like how the light illuminates the faces. Excellent work, as usual.
Best wishes,
Hakan

You lucky to have visited Bhutan, it looks like a beautiful and interesting place. This is a great shot of culture, showing the monks 'at work'. It also has some great light, really making the faces stand out in the dark room. Excellent!

Hello Izzet. A nice dip into your immense archives for this lovely and atmospheric wide-angle view of the ornate/colorful interior, and the group of monks showing some friendly interest in the visitor. Again a fine lesson about the use of available light in photography.

Hello Izzet Bey,
Wonderfull wonderfull composition. The use of indoor light, the subjects sitting and the one moving are extraordinary. The colors, well,.. are also extraordinary. The soft atmosphere is amazing, and makes me wish I took a similar photo.
Best personal regards. Salvator.

Izzet: maybe your old slides and prints are my favorite. Great uploads for the TE newbies from the digi-era. Great blur here too. Atmospheric and well-executed by a professional - to my eyes at least. regards, c

Bionjour, Izzet.

Bonne journee,
Jean-Yves
