Photographer’s Note

At a market place in Thimphu where, among many items, you can buy pink rice (bhutanese specialty).

The warm, golden light is due to a covering above my head. It created a 'natural' filter for harsh, white light seen a little bit in the background.

Well done. I'd like to see someone put together a hunt or a collection of "markets" around the world. North American ones would look very sterile with large non-descript packages on shelves. The rest of the world would be colorful and you'd be able to SEE the foods, like you show here.

hi joanna,
the market place is so typical of far eastern countries. the image captured is so well detailed, so vivid that i can enumerate most of the vegetables and spices in here. i should know- i came from the far east myself...:-)
