Blowing in the wind
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Prayer flags flying in the wind at the Cheli La pass, altitude 3 810 m. These long strips with prayers printed on cloth are erected on poles by persons who ask the gods for a favour such as succeeding in the exams, getting healthy or making a good business deal. The windier it gets, the more likely it is that the prayers will reach the gods.
This is in western Bhutan, on the ridge between the Paro and the Haa valleys.

Hi Gert. I like the idea but I think the prayer flags are dominating the photo too much - i don't think you should have covered more than half the photo with them. The mountains behind are getting a bit lost in all this foreground colour!
Hello after a long time...
Prayer flags have such a feel of divinity, all of Ladakh is ribboned together with these..its like a faith in the form of coloured cloth holding the mountains together..looks great against the backdrop...but i wish you had shown us more of the mountains...
Good one anyway
Cheers.

Hej Gert,
Interesting combination of these religous symbols and the breathtaking view. The sky looks a bit grainy from the scan, there are lots of software to take care of that. But nevertheless, a very good picture.

Hej Gert!
Just seeing images from Bhutan is great. I mean it's really the "hidden behind the clouds country" where few have been and Im curious to see more.

Hi Gert,
good idea with this POV. Photos from countries such Bhutan are almost very atractive. You had strong direct sun here and you managed the light well using the flags.
Best regards,
Stanislav
