Taktsang is the most famous of Bhutan's monasteries, perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the floor of Paro valley, where the only sounds are the murmurs of wind and water and the chanting of monks. Taktshang Monastery is perhaps Bhutan's most photographed and famous site. It is also known as 'Tiger's Nest' because Guru Rimpoche is said to have flown to the site on the back of a tigress in the eighth century. He then meditated in a cave here for three months in a cave where a monastery was later built. It has been one of the kingdom's most sacred sites ever since, and will be rebuilt in its original style once an auspicious date has been chosen.
Visitors to Paro can take a closer look at the monastery by ascending either on foot or by pony for about three hours to Tiger's Nest. Hikkers can enjoy a well-earned rest at the Taktsang Teahouse situated at a wonderful vantage point of the monastery. |

Shubhankar,
Good evening, the place is interesting!, Must to be great to rest in the middle of mountains. The architecture is very atractive but the highness is the most impressive thing.
TFS.
Regards.

Hi Shubhankar,
This monastary is amazing built right into the mountain. I like your point of view so that we can also see the sheer drop of the mountain. Good exposure and details. Well done!
Regards
Wanda
Hello Shubhankar!
A nice shot of a beautiful and historical place with a good POV!
But there are some over-exposed areas and a need of a small crop from above. I think, you don't mind that I changed it in a workshop post.
