[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
An October afternoon view of Mount Chomolhari, taken from Jangothang (Mount Chomolhari base camp).

Chomolhari is a peak of the main Himalayan crest and is on the border of Bhutan and Tibet. The peak itself is 7314m, and the north face is a sheer 9,000-foot wall. The name Chomolhari means Mountain of the Goddess and the mountain is sacred to Bhutanese and Tibetan Buddhists. By about 4pm the cloud completely obscures the mountain. Note the two glaciers at the base, these feed a stream which runs right through the base camp which makes for a very refreshing wash!

Shot manually at 1/2000 f/8.

Such a wonderful photo Adrian,
Good contrast between the snowy peaks and sky, the colours are superb, as the clouds. All the best,
Deyan

Good colours although the foreground does look a bit dark. It would be nice to see more of the detail of what appears to be a building on the right hand side. The exposure information indicates just how bright the conditions were and therefore how intense the shadow would probably be. In the circumstances, a really good shot.

What a spectacular view, and what amazingly clear colors in this picture. Thank you for sharing pictures from a place I seriously want to see (if I can afford it!), it must have been very special to be there.

Wow, You also have nice photos :) Not only this one

Breath taking view.
Have you really been there Adrian ?
Above the cloud. So close to heaven.
Green of envy.

George

It feels like the presence of God is there at the heights of those mountains. Nice Capture!
