A view towards the Mangde Chhu valley near the village of Kuenga Rabten, Trongsa district in central Bhutan.
Bhutan is one of the most ecologically conscious nations in the developing world. It's not just that the streets are as clean as in Singapore, with dustbins at roughly every ten meters, or that the exhaust fumes from cars are strictly regulated. By law no less than 60 percent of the country's surface must be covered by forests. Polluting industries are sometimes closed, even if they make money for the country. Environmental issues are taught at school, alongside English, maths, reading and writing etc.
This is a scanned Kodachrome slide.

Hallo Gert!
Here I like especially this wonderful light on the slopes and this incredible contrast between the two parts of the scenery. This must be a great place! Your note is very interesting because it describes a government WITH the sense of responsibility and wisdom - incredible ;-)
Greetings from hazy and cold Germany - and have a nice sunday!
Frank

Hej Gert,
A very pleasing composition, the different colours of the hillside could very well have been painted. As a contrast you have included a very fine foreground with attractive green-yellow colours. Wise to exclude the sky, it is much better this way.

hi gert,
very interesting shot, your idea to give us such a big portion of the wooded hills works very nice, thanx for sharing, stratos

The foreground is a little too much unobtrusive... but the background is sumptuous! TFS this good shot Gert, alain

framing 1/4 - 3/4 is interesting but i wonder what could it be in 1/3 - 2/3
interesting contrast

Hej Gert
An other great shot from your side, perfect comp makes a very attractive image. it has a kind of shangri-la mood over it, something behind the clouds where time strands still. ( but thats probably just my own imagination) allso like the shades over the fond-forest.

Hello Gert:
Wonderful image. Nice definition of the landscape in which the background does not get to be heavy and emphasizes the houses.
Saludos,
Pepe

Gert,

What a great note to go ith the picture that almost made me jump as I scrolled down to the buildings, what a view, fantastic.

Greg

Hello Gert
Incredible view of the hill's slope covered by the forest. Beautiful shadows on it and nice grey, and green colours. Great contrast between the bottom and the top part of this photo. Good composition and light.
Regards
