Photographer's Note
There is a latrine in the top right. A man is washing himself in the river, & 2 women are washing aluminium (aluminum) plates in the river. Guess which way the water's flowing ?
Regardless, I still thought this was an interesting snapshot of how people still live along the river in Bangladesh. It's taken from a bridge across one of the many tributaries of the Ganges Delta, not far from the Dhaka International Airport. You can see water hyacinth along the shore. It's the middle of the dry season in midwinter.

Very nice shot Chris. I like it. Very informative.
It's also the type of shots people should post on this site.. Trek Earth..

A good composition with a lot of information; The hand made boats have laundry on the woven mat roofs; the simple chores in teh dirty water. A real TE shot.
Too bring out more of the many details I'd crop the top, either down to the head of the person standing on teh boat, or at least to the out house on stilts. I'd also trim the left to the end of the slim boat that sticks out from the rest. That way you lose the empty space and fill the frame with the subject material.

Wonderful composition. The colors are very India. I like the diagonal of the boat. Truly one of your best shots.

Belissima imagem Chris, especialmente a textura e a predominancia de um ton quebrado pelos vermelhos. Otima composição em diagonal. Saudações.

namaskar chris,
great shot of a daily life scene. a true essence of te philosophy. yes it is a wonder to see people in third world countries still live like that. until someone sees this with their own eyes it is really hard to believe. great composition and you have maintained good color too.

Sometimes, your "random" photos are such miracles ! Bangladesh, Dhaka... This simple but interesting photo gives me the nostalgy of that place, I'd like to be back on the shores of the river there !
TFS,
Cath.
