Photographer’s Note

When the water of the Padma River recedes each year the locals tie their boats and construct a bridge across the river using bamboo. The pilings are whole sections of bamboo and the deck is woven split bamboo.

Good shot Bob. I also appreciate your note here. I think my only suggestion might be to crop down just a little from the top, as the sky is nice and blue, but doesn't really add much to the shot. For some reason, I really like the pose of the man closest to us, having his hands behind his back sort of relates a mood of normal, everyday activity in a relaxed manner.

A well chosen angle letting the bridge run diagonaly. A bit more corner to corner might have been even better.

I like the way the bridge is almost the same tone of color as the two shores it connect, thereby connecting them also in the photo. They make a H-like shape on the background of the darker water and trees and sky in the background.

Hi Bob. I think this shot would be better if we saw less sky and more of the land in the forground. I'm interested in where he is going. Having said that, this is an excellent shot, and I loove the bridge. It is so interesting to see what life is like around the globe. I wish life were that simple here. BTW, thanks for the great critiques you have given me lately. They have been a real help!
