Photographer’s Note
Does this boy love this baby? It's interesting. Some of the photos from this session are more powerful to me than the actual moment was. This kid, for instance, looks loving in the photo. There seems to be a bond between him and the baby. But for the rest of the time I was photographing the kids around there, he was a nuisance, trying to keep other kids out of the photo and jumping into portraits of others after I told him not to. He was one of my least favorite kids from that day, but this photo turned out nice.
Anyway, my girlfriend, Melissa, and I found a good spot for photographing the kids in one village in Srimangal. This rough brick wall provided the perfect backdrop...
After we took all the kids' photos, we had them printed and then went back and handed them out. They were excited...

Very composed portrait, josh, although it lacks a pinch of onctrats and brightness, but that's really minor and may probably owe to your current monitor if you're uploading from abroad.
And yes I know what it is to try to get photos with a bunch of South easten asia kids around, I remember Monywa countryside in burma, I simply couldn't move surrounded with a riot of kids...
