It was 12 degrees in Ruma, excellent trekking weather but for the locals it was cold! In fact Bangladesh was experiencing its coldest winter for 50 years. Time to buy a blanket!

Hi Elaine,

funny that with 12 degrees it was cold. How relative the feelings can be. We have now minus 10 and it is not so cold :). Nice photo, the colourful blankets instead of sarees look also attractive. Very nice portrait of this young smiling boy. Trekking in Bangladesh must have been experience!

I would have loved to have such a temerature while trekking around Kyaing Tong.

Elaine,
your photo is superbly taken and composed. What strikes me first are the colors - there are so many, bright and contrasting that it is not possible to overlook this picture. The composition seems to be well planned and with care about details.

Wonderful image and a splendid account of the ways of the smiley boy looks, relax and happy and the juxtaposition to the eyecatching blankets blends into the frame so nicely. Crispy sharp but the vibrant colours give it a much more life. This is absolutely beautiful, perfect timely shot and love the tone and light. Fantastic.

Another great shot from Bangladesh! His smiling face is perfect, surrounded by blankets and plastic bags. He seems to be cold, but the portrait is great. Exposure, colours and sharpness are very good. I really like it!

Really nice portrait ElainemI like your serie of Bangladesh,so little we know about this country,good to see some daily life photos.
I only knew Dhaka airport in 1980s when on transit,between Amsterdam and Kathmandu with Biman Bangladesh airlines ;=]
