Hi Marian, A very good portrait of this boatman. You put a face on the 120 million or so Bangladeshis we read about in the news far too often in relation to tragedies. He looks to be quite resigned to a tough life in a tough land. TFS. Murray.

This is a fine portrait, Marian, full of character, beautifully exposed and well composed within the frame. The positioning , left of centre is perfect and I like the way the left hand curls around in the corner. The context is fine too, giving us a view of his world. However, I do which you had not frames it in so much white border top and bottom. i think it distracts from the strength of the image and also give us a small image on our screens that we might have had.A note would have been nice too Anyway, thanks for a memorable portrait. regards kevin

Hello Marian,
A good portrait in a well balanced composition that includes a lot of the boatman's environment. Fine, saturated colours.

Hello Marian. This is an excellent shot...the quality is superb. A good photographer knows when to be close to their subjects and when to back away. Here, this shot, you've made the right choice...very close at a wide-angle. There is alot of "movement" in the shot because ofthe angles of his arms and legs, yet we are presented with a detailed background the add context to the portrait...very well done.
Chris
