Photographer’s Note

Another river scene from my journey by the Rocket from Dhaka to Khulna. It was a very relaxing trip watching life on the river as we slowly made our way through the countryside.

Today you have a treat with my photo giving you the maximum 800x800 pixels! It's very rare for me to post a square image but it seemed to work this time with this particular positioning of the boats and the horizon.

Hi Jonathan, The red sail makes a nice contrast to the not so yellow water on the river. This square crop does well fit to this picture. The diagonal arrangement of the two red sail makes nice composition.

Yes Jonathan, this is a very unusual format from you. But I think it works for the best. Of course that what makes this a very attractive image is the strong red colour of those sails. The weather and light conditions didn't seem to be very good but you managed well. It's amazing the way the red sails stand out in here. Again, nice disposal of the traditional boats on the composition, with a detailed view of the people. Good shot!

Nice capture and the vivid red has stood out nicely against the river. The contrast has delivered good impact too. The boat in the distance is a nice feature, which balances the composition. Well done.

Here can we say that colour makes the picture, for without these flaming red sails this should be a boring picture and now it becomes a very attractive one.

This is a good view of the river. The two boats are placed well in the composition and the red sails work very nicely here. Good work!

Fantastic red and pink colors for these sailing ships. I am not a fan of the square format, but I think you cropped you original because other some parts were not interresting for the subject and compo.
