Barisal, one of the most interesting towns that we visited during our trip. Don't ask me why, there are no "sights" to visit and it certainly was not a culinary experience being there. But an abundance of friendly people and colorful streets.
We stop here first at the poultry market. The chickens and ducks are brought to the market in baskets tied onto rickshaws and leave with their heads down, one by one as they are chosen for dinner.

You good bangladesh photos make me curious to visit this country.
An excellent and well composed shot.
Before visiting Burma for the first time 8 years ago I was told it is like Thailand about 40 years ago.I think Bangladesh is now like Burma 40 years ago....

Kia ora Elaine,
An interesting photo which just goes to show you don't need large monuments or such to make a place interesting. Scenes from everyday life, particulalrly in countries such as Bangladesh can be far more intersting. Cheers, Neil

A delightful taste of Bangladesh. Love the rickshaws encircling the chicken sellers and in so doing framing them and the produce. Nice daily life scene.
Seems like an interesting town for exploration and photography.

The best thing about street photography is freezing the moment and the small drama that is taking place within the small areas as shown. It's unobtrusive and subtle but the moment of the subject first catching you is quite telling and extremely real. Excellent shot, Well done

I think I can hear the noise, smell the odors, feel the cluttered and dusty surrounding, a definitive sense of being there.
It's about the culture, the street life, the people and it is what is always the most compelling and the impression that last in our memory, more than any given temple, fountain or bridge. I like this shot a lot!

A great and authentic daily scene, so far from the the eyes of the crowds of tourists. I like every single detail here - the baskets full of chickens, the pose of the men, the rickshaws...
A really good capture!
